President Richard Nixon made a historic phone call to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon on July 20, 1969. From the Oval Office, the call was routed through Mission Control in Houston and relayed into space via the Manned Space Flight Network, travelling 238,000 miles to the Apollo Lunar Module.
